Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

After graduating from Milton Margai Teachers College in the late 80s, Sheku Dickson Koroma started work with Christian Extension Services (CES), a partner of the Christian Reformed Church World Relief Committee (CRWRC), now known as World Renew, based in the USA and Canada. Sheku was hired as a Community Development Assistant and worked with grassroots communities in Northern Sierra Leone, assisting them to form Community Development Committees to address their needs. Sheku attended various seminars, workshops and courses on human development and was promoted to the position of Community Development Program Supervisor and Staff Trainer.

Sheku attended a Trainer of Trainers workshop in Conflict Resolution organized by Christian Health Association Sierra Leone (CHASL), and subsequently conducted Conflict Resolution workshops in Freetown. Sheku coordinated the distribution of relief items provided by the Canadian Food Grains Bank (CFGB) for IDPs in Freetown. Sheku was seconded to Catholic Relief Services (CRS), where he worked with the Makeni Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation Committee to assist Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Northern Sierra Leone.

Sheku worked for Network Movement for Justice and Development (NMJD), as the head of the Participatory Development Approaches Program, responsible for the training of community leaders.

Sheku was involved in the Poverty Reduction Strategy Program (PRSP) national sensitization as a trainer. The PRSP was part of the United Nations Millennium Development goals.

In Canada, Sheku has worked for Development and Peace (Share Lent), Regional Diversity Roundtable and is presently involved with the United Steel Workers Union.

Sheku holds the Higher Teachers Certificate from Milton Margai Teachers College, Freetown, Sierra Leone, a Diploma in Integrated Rural Development from Pan African Institute for Development (PAID-WA), Buea, Cameroon, and a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources and Labour Relations (BHRLR), from Athabasca University, Alberta, Canada.

Sheku has a great passion for working with communities to assist them to realize their dreams.
