Abdul Karim Kargbo is the Governance Coordinator of the Sierra Leonean Canadian Federation (SALCAF.org). Abdul is poised to achieve a high standard of donor accountability in Canada and Sierra Leone. Abdul is dedicated to support children's education; to support abused women and children; to feed hungry families; to reduce poverty; to provide basic health care services to vulnerable families; and to raise funds for disaster relief.
Abdul Karim Kargbo has been a member of the President’s Advisory Council at the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) since 2014. The Council provides employees with an open forum, with the President/CEO, to bring forward strategic and corporate wide issues including suggestions and recommendations for improvement. The Council is a voice through which employees can influence positive changes at CMHC.
Abdul Karim Kargbo is currently a senior stress testing analyst with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). As a member of the Insurance/Guarantee Risk and Capital Evaluation team, within the Sector of the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), he is primarily responsible for the ongoing development of the Corporate-Wide Stress Testing program. Functional requirements of Abdul’s role include development of standardized stress testing stakeholder reports, processes for ad hoc reporting, overall process flows impacting numerous stakeholder groups, proposing and seeking agreement from stakeholders on program timelines, and creation of stress and sensitivity scenarios.
Abdul Karim Kargbo was a senior economist/market analyst with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) from 2007 to 2017. He was responsible for analyzing economic and housing market conditions across Canada. He has been regularly quoted by local media across Eastern and Southwestern Ontario on housing market issues in the region. Over the years, Abdul has been invited to speak at numerous seminars across Eastern and Southwestern Ontario. Before joining CMHC, he was an economic analyst at Natural Resources Canada where his responsibilities involved demographic analysis of the federal public service. Abdul has a Masters in economics, specializing in macroeconomics from Carleton University.
